Jay Paul McWilliams - Chief Executive Officer
Jay Paul McWilliams is the Chief Executive Officer of LOGOS Resources II, LLC. Since co-founding the company in 2016, McWilliams and his team have successfully built a premier position in the San Juan Basin comprised of 230,000 net acres and producing ~105 MMcfepd.

Prior to co-founding LOGOS II, McWilliams founded LOGOS I, where he led the successful development and monetization of a large portion of the company’s assets, providing top tier returns on capital deployed. Prior to founding LOGOS I, he acted as lead acquisition engineer at LINN Energy, leading approximately $1 billion in successful transactions. In addition, he held various engineering positions while working for Burlington Resources and Resolute Natural Resources.

Jay Paul earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with highest honors from New Mexico Tech and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where he was a Fuqua Scholar. He currently serves on the Center for Energy, Development, and the Global Environment Board (EDGE) at Duke University.
Kelly Maxwell - Chief Operating Officer
Prior to joining LOGOS, Kelly worked with ConocoPhillips and Burlington Resources for 38 years. Over his career he functioned in several Supervisory and Advisory roles working in many areas of responsibility across the San Juan Basin. Roles included Production Operations, Asset and Operations Engineering, Automation/IT, Depletion Planning and Infrastructure, as well as Gathering and Processing commercial support.
Kelly brings experience in gas gathering and hydraulic modeling, compression and facilities optimization, and production optimization analysis to LOGOS.
Chris Jeffus - Vice President of Land and Legal
Prior to joining the LOGOS team, he worked in the Rockies and Permian Asset Team at EnerVest Operating, LLC. At EnerVest, Chris was responsible for management of numerous properties throughout New Mexico and Utah, and he participated in the negotiation and management of various agreements, including key joint operating agreements, farmout agreements and gas gathering agreements. Chris began his career as an associate attorney at an oil and gas law firm located in Houston, Texas, where he gained more than five years of industry experience pertaining to leasehold ownership, land ownership and negotiation of upstream oil and gas agreements.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Finance from Texas A&M University – College Station, Texas, with honors. Subsequently, Chris earned a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law, and he was admitted to the Texas Bar Association in 2009. Chris currently serves on the Alumni Board at his high school, St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas.
Marcia Brueggenjohann - Vice President of Reservoir Engineering
Marcia Brueggenjohann, prior to joining LOGOS Resources II, LLC as V.P. of Reservoir Engineering, has over 24 years of industry experience. This includes a 12 year career at WPX Energy and Williams Companies with a variety of leadership roles, primarily for the San Juan basin and Williston asset teams. Her work there included responsibility for reserves, strategic planning, reservoir characterization, financial performance and numerous acquisition evaluations. Marcia has an additional 12 years of other industry experience including offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, project management in a fully integrated steel mill and key account supervision for technical chemical applications in refineries and production facilities across North America.
Marcia earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Missouri and a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Texas on a competitive scholarship. While working at Williams Companies, she successfully completed the ELITE Engineering Leadership program at the University of Tulsa, where she was the sole recipient of the 2011 Swearingen Leadership Award. She is currently serving as an industry advisor for the University of Tulsa ELITE program, and in multiple roles on the Signature Symphony board in Tulsa for over five years.
John Bruner - Strategic Advisor Finance, Accounting, and Regulatory
Prior to joining LOGOS Resources II LLC as Sr. V.P. Finance, Accounting and Regulatory, had a 28-year career with ConocoPhillips in a variety of roles including asset management, strategic planning, subsurface management, commercial and business development in the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, Middle East and Southeast Asia. His most recent role with ConocoPhillips was the Development and Strategy Manager for the San Juan Business Unit where he oversaw all subsurface characterization and development operations in the San Juan Basin, infrastructure optimization, business development, regulatory and stakeholder engagement functions.
Prior to this role, John had leadership roles as an asset manager and subsurface manager in Indonesia. During that time, John delivered the first two gas swaps to be completed between Indonesia and Singapore and completed multiple appraisal and development programs in the South Natuna Sea.
Other assignments included the United Kingdom where John was a Joint Venture Manager over two subsea development fields in the Central North Sea and also led an organization responsible for the optimization of the Southern North Sea Gas Basin assets from reservoir through facilities. While working in Dubai, John was team leader for a horizontal redevelopment program that earned the company’s top technical award. John also worked in management and technical roles onshore and offshore U.S. gulf coast.
Raised in Pennsylvania, John earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and graduated as Valedictorian of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences.
Krista McWilliams - Vice President Of Operations Engineering
Krista works with her team to drill, complete and produce high quality oil and gas wells in the San Juan Basin. In 2019, Krista was appointed by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham to the State of New Mexico’s Water Quality Control Commission. Prior to joining LOGOS, she founded Diamond Derrick Consulting, a Farmington, NM-based provider of high-quality oil and gas project and data management services. Since forming Diamond Derrick in 2008, Krista and her team have provided support for local and national clients including ConocoPhillips, LINN Energy, Pioneer Resources and Logos Resources. Prior to founding Diamond Derrick, Krista was a senior engineer with ConocoPhillips and Burlington Resources in various capacities.
Krista holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with highest honors from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Krista’s passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education in the Farmington community has inspired her to become involved in various STEM related initiatives. Krista is a 2017 graduate of Leadership San Juan and remains an active member on the Education Committee. Krista currently serves on the Four Corners Economic Development Center Board, the New Mexico Natural History Museum Foundation board, the Parent Advisory Committee for the San Juan County Family School and the Aztec Municipal School District Foundation.
